How the money was allocated:

Supporting Plan

Plan is an international humanitarian organisation helping children to realise their full potential. Supporting Children in Bolivia and Nepal:

£3,300
- Has been given to support Plan's campaign to stop Child Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Girls in Nepal. This money will make a real difference to childrens' lives and the communities that they live in. Tens of thousands of girls are trafficked from Nepal to work in the sex trade and domestic service in India each year. This project aims to tackle the causes of trafficking as well as provide support to those who have been affected by it.

£5,000 - has been split between the following projects:
A.
To finish off the building and equipping of a community healthcare centre in rural Bolivia: over half of the population of Tarija, Bolivia, lives in poverty. In general, people do not enjoy a good standard of health and are unable to recognise or treat common diseases, and one-quarter of children are malnourished. This project will ensure that hundreds of people have access to good quality healthcare and will offer local people information and training on important health issues. You can read all about this project here.

B.
To support a youth centre in poorest Brazil: Vila Embratel is one of the city's poorest areas, life is marked by violence, high levels of criminal and gang activities, high rates of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Both of these projects will have an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of people who are desperate for help. You can learn more about this project here.

£1,800
- Has been given to Oxfam to support its work in Southeast Asian Tsunami disaster crisis.

Sponsor a child with Plan and you will make a lasting difference to the lives of the world's poorest children. You'll help equip them and their communities with the tools and knowledge to implement and achieve long-term, generational change.

Supporting Richard House Hospice

£3,000 - Has been given to Richard House Hospice: Children's Hospices provide respite and terminal care for children and young people who are not expected to live into adulthood. There are currently only 34 children's hospices in the UK and incredibly, until Richard House was built, there were none in London. Richard House has been purpose built to care for children with life limiting or life threatening conditions. Working with actor, Colin Salmon, one of the patrons of Richard House, Lance is donating part of the auction proceeds to this charity.
