As you may know, actor Lance Henriksen appeared at the now somewhat controversial Fan Expo held last month, which is Canada's largest horror expo, attracting an average of 40,000+ fans to the heart of down town Toronto over three days in August. This powerhouse event is an extravaganza of celebrity guests, autograph signings, parties, Q&A sessions, seminars and workshops, and a colossal selection of movies and movie memorabilia, including books, comic books, toys, video games, trading cards, posters, anime, manga, and tons more.

For those of you affected by the overly long queues, alleged poor management and packed out event, you might like to know that the organisers have posted an apology on their website, and have issued a promise to increase the amount of space available at next years event.

The 2010 event left thousands of fans standing outside as capacity became an issue, many waiting several hours for re-entry. At one point during Saturday afternoon organizers announced (to a small group by the doors) that they would not be letting anyone else in, including those who had purchased tickets in advance, but the majority of fans remained unaware of this and continued to queue in ignorance until word-of-mouth reached them. Eventually they announced that they would be staying open an extra hour to try to accommodate the lines, though many had waited for more than 2 hours for re-entry.

Attendance reaches facility limit and Toronto Fire Marshal's office halts ticket sales for four hours on Saturday afternoon. Significant backlash from organizers continuing to sell tickets to new patrons while paid attendees locked outside documented by media.

The problems can be seen about 2 minutes into this video at Youtube which contains some strong language, be warned, but you have to feel sorry for these customers.

That aside, we really hope that you got the opportunity to get inside and meet Lance, if you did make it, why not share the moment with other fans in our dedicated Conventions and Appearances forum, or add some photos to our Gallery in the Convention Memories category, or links to online videos in our Convention Video Memories section.
