Man's Best Friend

Lance stars as Dr Jarrett, founder of EMAX bio-engineering laboratory. After his family is brutally murdered Jarrett develops Max, a DNA state-of-the-art guard dog, with human intelligence and the ability to adapt chameleon-like to its surroundings.

"Man's Best Friend is a straightforward morality play with lots of new twists. Lori and Jarrett have this consistent battle about animal rights vs. vivisection."

Lance performed his own stuntwork for the film. "On almost every film I make there's a moment when I feel stunts would be better for my character. In Man's Best Friend the dog had to push me through a plate glass window. So instead of breaking up the shot and using a stuntman, I did the whole thing in two takes. Preparing for such a stunt usually requires me to remember a time when I've been more afraid. Basically it's an adrenalin high. It's like standing on a cliff just before you take that first step off. At first it may may be a while before you make your move but eventually you're gonna do it."
