20th November 2007 Lance Henriksen at Collectormania Manchester
Lance Henriksen recently attended Collectormania in Manchester, England and has ended up causing quite a stir whilst taking part in a Q&A session with fans of his finest role to date, Millennium's Frank Black.
'When asked about the forthcoming X Files 2 movie... he replied "Chris Carter had asked him not to discuss it with fans if asked if Frank was in it...". Lance reportedly wore a grin on his face as he said "can you guess why?". You can read more about this on our sister website, Millennium - This is who we are.
Thanks to Baz (EngineComics) for this news and for supplying the following photo of Lance at last weekends Collectormania.

7th August 2007 Update on Lance's new soap scenes
A few weeks ago we updated you on the rumors that Lance Henriksen was filming some scenes for a Brazilian soap opera called Ways of the Heart. The series is due to commence on Brazilian TV August 20th.
Here's another new update from Christian Jabur in Brazil packed with information (some spoilers):
Hi again, I'm sending more details on the story that will be portrayed on "Ways of the Heart", Lance's Brazilian soap opera. Brazilian actor Walmor Chagas was recently hired by Record TV Network to play Dr. Socrates Mayer, whose death will deflagrate the whole police story in the soap opera. He will be the owner of the clinic that will be exposed in a book by Lance's character.
The following information isn't linked to Lance's appearance on the show. I'm sending it just for your knowledge, but you can post it in your website, if you want to.
Actress Bianca Castanho will appear in "Caminhos..." as Erica, a teacher who suspects one of her students, Angela (Julia Magessi), hides wings on her back, although everyone thinks she's a hunchback. Eduardo Lago will play Angela's father.
Bianca Rinaldi is training Olympic gymnastics and trapeze since March and boxing since May in a gymn in Rio de Janeiro. Last May, she said she intended to attend the classes twice a week till the premiere of the soap opera, on August 20th. "The preparation is needed. Maria will be an action hero. I'll need a lot of power", she said.
As I mentioned in my first e-mails, she will play a woman running away from the police and trying to prove her innocence to a federal agent. To play her role, Bianca will have to put into action her physical abilities and have a lot of creativity to use a number of disguises.
The soap opera will have two gay characters, played by Claudio Heinrich and Deo Garcez. The directors of the network decided not to allow a gay kiss on "Caminhos..." This decision follows a precedent. Globo TV network, the biggest network in Brazil, also had a gay couple in a soap opera called "America", and the media raised the possibility of a kiss between the characters. But the network decided not to allow it, although there were rumours that the kiss was shot by actors and crew. Record thinks the Brazilian audience isn't ready for a gay kiss in primetime television yet. There's also the fact that, despite having a commercial programming, with variety shows, soap operas, news shows and American TV series like CSI, CSI: Miami, Monk and Psych, the network is owned by Bishop Edir Macedo, leader of a Brazilian evangelical group called the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. The church produces TV shows to spread out its beliefs and round up followers. These shows, that include live participation by the audience by phone, are aired by Record from around 1:00 AM through 7:30 AM, local time (GMT -03:00).
According to Daniel Castro, columnist of "Folha de S. Paulo", employees of Record TV Network who are shooting "Caminhos do Coração" in Miami were impressed with Lance's humbleness. He doesn't act like a star who appeared in big movies and was nominated three times to the Golden Globes. He had lunch with the Brazilian technicians, he didn't want to use a stuntman in the scene where he's murdered and he offered himself to come to Brazil to release the soap opera, giving interviews and stuff.
The column also published a small picture, released by the network, that shows Lance (in the left) recording a scene on a street in Miami with Alexandre Barillari.

Well, that's all for now.
Best wishes,
Christiano
Christano has also uploaded these images to the Lance Henriksen discussion forums at This is Who Are - Millennium Message Board:

Christiano says: On the top it's written, "In August, on Record, an explosion of teledramaturgy". On the bottom, it's written: "Ways of the Heart - Prepare your heart for the soap opera that will touch Brazil. Record - on the way to the top."
16th July 2007 Lance to attend Atlanta in August
Lance Henriksen is apparently scheduled to appear at the forthcoming Dragon*Con 2007, America's largest, multi-media, popular arts convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film. This year Dragon*Con is occurring Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, GA - August 31st to September 3rd 2007.
For more information including location maps, hotel details and the current guest list visit the official website at Dragon*Con.
Thanks to Joe McBrayer for the information.
13th July 2007 Ways of the Heart
The following news article is a little late getting published, so firstly I sincerely apologise to Christiano Jabur for this and thank him for sharing this detailed account for the benefit of Lance Henriksen fans. Rumors had surfaced a few weeks ago that Lance was to make a return to television in the form of a Brazilian soap opera and we now have much more information about this.
Christiano writes: According to journalist Daniel Castro, columnist of Brazilian newspaper "Folha de S.Paulo", Lance Henriksen will be in the next soap opera of Record TV Network, whose headquarters are in Sao Paulo. The soap opera will be called "Caminhos do Coracao" (Ways of the Heart) and it will replace "Vidas Opostas" (Opposite Lives) at 10:00 PM (GMT -03:00).
According to Castro, Henriksen will shoot his scenes in Miami, Florida, in July. Director Alexandre Avancini went last month to the city to chose locations. He will speak English and his lines will be translated into Portuguese by another character in the story.
Lance will appear in at least 7 episodes of "Ways of the Heart", whose teleplay is being written by Tiago Santiago. Lance will play a physician, Dr. Christian Walker, who makes researches on genetic mutations. Walker writes a book exposing genetic experiences and the birth of mutant kids in a clinic the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo. Because of that, the owner of the clinic is murdered and the paranormal kids are in danger.
Because of the book, Marcelo Montenegro (played by Leonardo Vieira), a federal agent whose daughter was one of the victims of the genetic experiences (when she gets nervous, she moves objects with the power of her thought), goes to Florida. He's followed by bad guy Ramon (Alexandre Barillari) who will persecute and try to kill Dr. Walker. Brazilian actress Bianca Rinaldi will play one of the main characters, called Maria, and will also appear on scenes shot in Miami.
This information was published on May 15 in "Folha de S.Paulo".
Lance Henriksen Magic recently heard again from our friend Christiano who adds the following to this report:
The Brazilian news website Estadao published today that director Alexandre Avancini has already chosen locations in Miami for "Caminhos do Coracao" (Ways of the Heart) and the shootings in Florida will happen from July 11 through 22. Among the actors chosen for the soap opera, the website mentions Leonardo Vieira, Leticia Medina and Alexandre Berilari. There will also be shootings in the coastal region of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.
According to a report published by the newspaper "Agora SP" and transcribed by Folha Online -- actress Karina Bacchi will play a Brazilian shortsighted model called Gloria, who doesn't like to wear glasses. She thinks they make her ugly and she doesn't use them when she's on the catwalk, what makes her get into trouble. She will also have a complicated romance with Lucas, played by Jean Fercondini, because she thinks he's too young and poor. She won't be able to get rid of him because he can read her thoughts and guess all her wills, just like Mel Gibson's character on "What Women Want". But he won't be able to contain Gloria's ambition. She will get involved with the owner of a modeling agency, a rich guy played by Jorge Pontual. Apparently the soap opera will premiere in August.
Again thanks to Christiano for sharing and putting together this detailed report on one of Lance's latest roles that will be of great interest to Lance fans everywhere who follow his career.

28th May 2007 Dying God update
Lance Henriksen Magic recently heard from the director of Dying God, a new feature film co-starring actor Lance Henriksen and James Horan.
Director Fabrice Lambot was kind enough to send through a great picture of Lance from the film and shortly after a copy of the official pre-release poster for Dying God. Fabrice advises that "Lance plays a pimp whose girls are killed by a serial killer, and he has to work with a corrupt cop named Sean Fallon (played by James Horan) to find out and get rid of the killer, that may not be human..."
